Japanese manufacturer Gift issued an official apology after identifying a curious error in Uma Musume Pretty Derby sold during Comic Market 107at the end of December.

The problem involved the Vivlos character model. The plush toys were produced with four ears: two horse ears, which are correct, and two human ears, which are not present in the original design. According to Haruyuki Kaneko, representative director of Gift, the error went unnoticed in the final stage of production.
Therefore, the company has opened a channel for product exchange or full refund. Buyers can contact support until March 31st. The repaired units should be shipped in early May 2026, while the refund covers the full amount of 6,500 yen.
Meanwhile, the "defect" ended up increasing the item's value on the secondhand market. Some units have already been resold for prices far above the original price, reaching unexpected figures. On the other hand, other plush toys from the franchise, sold at the same event, did not present any problems.
