The novel HaruChika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru is getting a live-action adaptation. Shori Sato (One Piece) will star as Haruta, while Kanna Hashimoto (seen above) of the Rev. group will star as Chika. The film will feature a mystery concept, according to a report from ANN .
Masahide Ichii is directing. The film begins principal photography in April and is scheduled for release in 2017.
The animated TV series premiered in Japan on January 6th. The story follows childhood friends Haruta Kamijou and Chika Homura, members of their school's wind instrument club, which is about to close due to a lack of members. Spending most of their time practicing while trying to recruit new members, one day an incident occurs on school grounds, and the two must team up to solve the problem.
